About Categ Volta

Named after Alessandro Volta and the categorical precision lighting demands, our studio was founded in 2009 in the Tortona design district. Principal designers hold qualifications from Politecnico di Milano and maintain memberships with the Associazione Professionisti dell'Illuminazione.

We collaborate with architects early in renovation projects because moving a recessed downlight after ceiling closure costs far more than planning correctly. Our deliverables include reflected ceiling plans, circuit schedules, and dimming protocols.

We remain independent from fixture manufacturers, recommending products on merit rather than commission arrangements, though we pass trade discounts to clients when available.
